Dear stakeholders,
On behalf of the Saskatchewan Firearms Office, I am pleased to invite you to a formal information session regarding the upcoming Firearms Verification and Appraisal (FVA) Service. This session will provide an overview of the service, including its purpose, applicable legislation, scope, and how it will support law abiding firearms owners across the province.
During the session, Saskatchewan Firearms Commissioner Blaine Beaven will deliver remarks and address key considerations related to implementation and stakeholder engagement. This session will be held on the evening of Thursday, May 7, 2026. Specific timings and connection details will follow in a separate email which you should receive no later than the morning of May 6, 2026.
To ensure the session is as informative and relevant as possible, we are asking all stakeholders to submit questions in advance. Commissioner Beaven will address these questions during the presentation.
Please note that questions will not be taken during the session, and only those submitted in advance will be considered.
Submit questions to: fvasupport@gov.sk.ca
Deadline for submissions: 9:00 p.m. (CST), Monday, May 4, 2026
Your input is important to us, and we encourage you to share any questions or considerations you may have as we prepare for the launch of this important provincial service. We appreciate your continued collaboration and look forward to your participation.
Sincerely,
Stephen Coote (He/Him)
